Protect and Preserve Our Village

I am running for Re-Election to City Council so I can continue to Protect and Preserve

the qualities that make Greenwood Village the place we choose to live and raise our families:

Open Space - High Quality Development - Safety - Excellent Service

Colorado and especially the Denver Metro area has seen a lot of change and growth the last few years.

Help me maintain our City’s commitment to follow a Master Plan that ensures

responsible growth, high quality development and a safe and secure Village.

OPEN SPACE

Greenwood Village has a great balance of open space and development. The Village is full of parks, trails and the Highline Canal. You do not encounter the dense development of track homes, multi-tenant buildings, commercial sites with minimal landscaping as you see in surrounding cities.

If re-elected, I will continue to protect open space and balanced development by following the guidelines of our Comprehensive Plan. I will continue to fight efforts by the State of Colorado to usurp zoning authority of our Village by their efforts to ignore the long standing Colorado State law regarding home rule for municipalities.

HIGH QUALITY DEVELOPMENT

Have you noticed that in Greenwood Village the commercial signs, landscaping in and around commercial sites, and construction material are of a high standard? This is not by happenstance. The City Council along with the Commissioners and Staff review new construction and have guidelines to maintain this quality.

As a member of the committee that reviews out Land Development Code, I will continue to support the high standards of development that make Greenwood Village unique. I will also appoint individuals that follow these guidelines to the Planning and Zoning Committee that oversees commercial development and the Board of Adjustments and Appeals which reviews and approves variances for residential properties.

A SAFE VILLAGE

My family and I feel safe here walking the many open trails, the Highline Canal or just around our neighborhood when visiting our friends. A well trained and community supported Police Force is essential to provide the safety and confidence so that we and our families can enjoy our parks, trails and neighborhoods.

Police need to know that their community backs them. As your Councilmember, I have supported the requests of our Chief of Police and City Manager for more equipment such as Automated License Plate Readers, more drug sniffing dogs to help with the fentanyl and other drug crimes along with additional support staff and Patrols to keep Police response times the best in Colorado.

EXCELLENT SERVICES

You know the minute you cross into Greenwood Village since the roads are maintained and clear of snow and the medians are landscaped. A call to the City to repair a fence, a road, to pick up bulk items for disposal or recycling is always met with a prompt response.

We are fortunate to have the high level of service thanks to the City’s strong finances and thorough budget and capital improvement planning. Did you know that Greenwood Village has won the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for seven consecutive years?

If re-elected to the City Council, I will work to ensure our high level of services continue and that our diverse tax base provides remains robust.
